What Happens During a Pool Opening Visit
We start by removing your winter or safety cover, cleaning it off, and setting it aside for storage. From there we reconnect the pump, filter, and any other equipment that was disconnected or drained for winter, and bring the system back online. Once everything is running, we do an initial round of water testing and add the chemicals needed to bring the pool into a safe, swimmable range — though it typically takes a few days of circulation for the water to fully clear.
Catching Winter Damage Early
Winter is hard on pool equipment — freezing temperatures, sitting water in plumbing lines, and months of inactivity can all cause problems that aren’t obvious until you try to start things back up. During every pool opening, we visually inspect pumps, filters, and visible plumbing for cracks, leaks, or damage. Finding an issue in April is a lot cheaper and less stressful than discovering it in the middle of a July pool party.
When to Schedule Your Opening
In the Auburn and Opelika area, most homeowners open their pools in March or April, once overnight freezes are reliably behind us. Booking early in the season also means shorter wait times — spring is our busiest stretch, so getting on the schedule early helps you avoid a delayed start to your swim season.
